Porsche Cayman

The Cayman is Porsche’s mid-engine coupe that is based on the Boxster S roadster, but draws both inspiration and components from the legendary Porsche 911 Carrera. Added to the Porsche lineup for 2006, the Cayman S was the first mid-engine coupe from Porsche since the 914 model of the 1970s—other than the limited-production Carrera GT supercar. The Cayman S also shares a spiritual connection to the Porsche 550 Coupe and the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS Coupe, two legendary Porsche race cars. The sport coupe has curvaceous rear fenders and the rear hatchback slopes smoothly down to the automatically extending rear spoiler for a very distinctive look.

The 2008 Porsche Cayman adds optional sport bucket seats with carbon-fiber reinforced construction for a weight savings of 15 to 20 pounds depending on the model. Macadamia Metallic is a new exterior color for 2008, along with Atlas Grey Metallic, Lagoon Green Metallic and Ruby Red Metallic. Carrera Red is added as a new natural leather option.
